The item Engineeringtool – creating a new rack with just a few clicks
Making engineering easy for lean production
Designing solutions for lean production operations just got a whole lot easier and more intuitive – thanks to the item Engineeringtool. But how does this engineering program work? item is at LogiMAT 2019 to showcase its enhanced digital tool. Users can design racks and frames directly online, without needing any additional software. Rules-based 3D engineering ensures that Profile Tubes, fasteners and roller conveyors fit together perfectly and are positioned precisely where they need to be. What’s more, the resultant design can be reproduced at any time. At the touch of a button, users instantly obtain full documentation containing all necessary information and CAD data, and can order ready-made systems and plants straight from the web – making this tool a convenient solution that saves both time and money.
The item Engineeringtool now includes additional components from the Lean Production Building Kit System, enabling users to design factory equipment, FIFO racks and other frames using Profile Tube System D30 in next to no time. In contrast to complex CAD software, the item Engineeringtool is a straightforward aid that is intuitive to use. Once the user has chosen a suitable profile via the drag-and-drop function, the software will only display compatible fasteners and roller conveyors. If the selected components are dragged near the profile, the item Engineeringtool automatically incorporates them in the correct position. An integrated plausibility check prevents components from being placed incorrectly. When designing racks or factory equipment, the item Engineeringtool compiles sketches, assembly guides, comprehensive project documentation and complete parts lists upon request. The user can then order the item components directly online. Users can also duplicate their designs as often as they like and make changes whenever they want, since the item Engineeringtool automatically changes all other lengths in the overall construction as soon as one value is changed. An end device with a standard web browser and internet access is all that’s needed to use this intelligent program – no costly additional software is required. Available in a total of 41 countries and multiple languages, the digital Engineeringtool from item actively supports the continuous improvement process (CIP), ensuring maximum efficiency in lean production.
